How would you explain your research in 3 sentences to someone who is not in science?
I have worked on brain cancer. I am trying to study the neuroprotective role of Allium cepa in curing damaged Retinal Ganglion Cells (RGCs). Such damages/loss are generally the hallmarks of optic neuropathies.
More about you
I am a strong, direct and honest person with self-motivated thoughts. My strength is my honesty towards my work. My motivation is Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. I am very fond of mountain climbing. I love to play cricket in free time.
About your work
My area of interest is the use of herbal extracts (A. cepa) and its implications for the recovery of damaged RGCs. Allium cepa is a rich source of flavonoids, vitamin C, and have an antioxidant and neuroinflammatory effect. It exerts a multiplicity of neuroprotective actions within the brain, including a potential to protect neurons against injury induced by neurotoxins. My interest is in evaluating its effects in animal model of PPA.
